Examinations and x-rays

Routine examinations and X-rays are an effective way of monitoring the teeth and gums and are used to help prevent the need for treatment. If treatment is required, X-rays help to diagnose any problems and examination appointments are used to help form treatment plans.

A filling replaces part of a tooth that has been lost or removed because of dental decay. Most people are familiar with traditional metal fillings called amalgam, however, white fillings are much more natural looking and virtually invisible.

Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment is needed when the blood or nerve supply to the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury, which may spread and eventually lead to an abscess. The aim of this treatment is to remove all infection, after which the root is cleaned and filled to prevent further infection. Root canal treatment is a skilled and time-consuming procedure. Most courses of treatment will involve two or more visits to your dentist.

If you have any teeth that are no longer restorable, Our highly skilled practitioners are able to remove them when necessary. If extraction of a tooth is required your dentist will discuss options available to you to replace the missing tooth or teeth where applicable.

When a tooth is very broken down it is necessary to provide a crown in order to restore it to its natural look and strength. This involves shaping the tooth, taking an impression or a scan which is then sent to a dental technician to hand craft a customised crown. This crown is subsequently fitted in place with a special adhesive. Crowns are made from many different materials, for example, metal, porcelain or ceramic or porcelain bonded to metal.

Dental bridges replace missing teeth. They can restore chewing function, enhance your appearance and improve your oral health. A dental bridge consists of crowns (that fit over your natural teeth on either side of the space) and artificial teeth (that “bridge the gap” in your smile). Each bridge is carefully hand crafted by a skilled technician to emulate the natural teeth as closely as possible.

Dentures are removable devices constructed to replace single or multiple missing teeth. These are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the mouth. They can be constructed fully from acrylic material or utilize some metal as a base and to clasp the teeth.

Dental Implants

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is an artificial substitute for the root portion of a natural tooth which anchored into a socket to support a crown. The goal is to achieve a close contact between the implant and the bone tissue so they can “fuse” together, creating a stable support for the new tooth.

Dental implants are the most effective and durable option to replace missing teeth.

Strong, durable and natural in appearance, implants are among the most successful dental procedures performed (95% success with the right after care).

All I have to say is wow! Thank you so much for my tooth extraction Dr Sukanthi🙏🏽 After 10 days of misery and pain, I was very anxious and all for nothing. I felt comfortable and safe. Everything went smoothly. I wondered what all the fuss was about. Lol! What a lovely bunch at Sweetcroft. I’ve got to know most of the staff there. I think I should be invited your Christmas party🤣

Courteous receptionists and were very helpful with getting me an emergency appointment within 1/2 hr of me calling them. Saw Ritesh the dentist for an assessment. He took X-rays and dealt professionally with the problem tooth, only suggesting the necessary treatment I needed. My first experience with Sweetcroft deserves the full 5 stars, so thank you to the practice staff & dentist.

I’d never had fillings before so was apprehensive before my appointment. However Dr Suneeta Dhokia was incredible, she was so gentle, quick and made the whole experience so pleasant! It was great seeing her work efficiently with her nurse Fatana, they were both so warm and friendly which put me at ease. Didn’t feel a thing, would definitely go back again and recommend her to friends & family
